Quote by ShadowDreamer16Have you ever had an argument with someone who just didn't know when to quit? Who just kept going, and going, and going, trying to get you to say that they're right.

Well I have and it's down right annoying; it's almost like running into a never ending verbal assault. And I'd just like to know if you guys have ever been in the same situation as me and if so what did you do to end it?

Well, there's this guy in the Religion & Science forum, who keeps on insisting her faith, and despite consistent attack from all sides of the religious spectrum -she insists that she is right, that her religion is right, that her Bible is right, that we are wrong, our arguments are flawed, and that we should convert and bow to God.

To those frequenting the forum, you know who I am talking about.

I have a feeling that I know exactly who you're talking about. It was actually right after I had a conversation/argument with her that I wrote this tread. Yes, it frustrated me that much.
Thanks for commenting by the way, it makes me feel better knowing I wasn't the only victim so to speak.

Quote by bromithiaThis new PiQ isn't even worth reading, it's like a really big TV guide or something.

That's a pretty good description, that's exactly what I felt too. -_-

Quote by bromithiaAh well, there are still other anime magazines out there, I guess.

Do you know of any good ones?

Quote by bromithiaUh, off the top of my head, Shonen Jump, although the focus of that is on manga. Megami magazine is an all anime, although that's in Japanese only. Sorry for not being able to help out more. :p

My sister's bought a few of the Shonen Jump magazines, but they're not exactly what I'm looking for and the Megami magazine sounds cool, but unfortunately I don't understand Japanese . But thanks anyways, and if you ever hear of any other anime magazines that sound interesting please feel free to let me know. :)

I have a friend, and when we lived together in a dorm we fought so much...I'm pretty sure we had an argument about the moon, even..... <_<

Haha...that's sad, yet funny at the same time. That type of thing happens between my sister and me all the time. We'll argue so much with each other about really the most random useless things in the world, yet we tend to take it very seriously. We sometimes even go so far as to bet money on who's right. So far it's been a good investment let me tell you. :D And sometimes we even get our parents in on it. I remember this one time my dad and I had an argument about no jokes if peanuts grow under or above ground. I won five dollars. ;)

I'm now very cautious about where and what I post.

Quote by Bubbachibi18I know, Gosh! It really sucks I just found out too. I can't believe it's gone: the posters, the reviews, the comments, the show and game updates, the cosplay, the fan art, the Kobato manga insert and oh the DVDs! It was awesome, I truly feel your pain.(sob, sob :( )
It was the best Magazine I've ever read...really the best. No other Magazine can replace it so I won't even try.

Ahh..kindred spirits...I feel the same way.
I really am going to miss it. :(

Quote by AkaikenHello... just dropping by to say thanks for posting on my thread. :) appreciate it...

No problem. :)

Quote by SmurffyGal123Thank you very much for the nice comment; glad you liked my pic.
Thanks again ;)

No problem. I was just checking out the rest of your gallery and noticed you have some pretty sick skills. Being a good copyist and colorist is sometimes a lot harder than coming up with your own characters. Your observation skills are really good and precise. I look forward to seeing more of your collection. :)

Quote by shoujoboyThey may say the price point isn't an issue for the shut down, but it's partially true. The biggest factor is the reconcilliation going on in the American anime industry. Geneon died off last year and since then ADV (who publishes Newtype) has been on shaky ground. ADV went on an anime licensing blitz around 03-04 and just kept on trucking after that. Much of what they have licensed hasn't even come out yet, and with anime as a dying form in American (for purchase at least) ADV had to find ways to shave off excess baggage. Since NTUSA wasn't producing profit, it was best to kill it off and funnel their efforts elsewhere.

NTUSA had the unfortunate fate of being attached to ADV. If it were independantly brought out here, much more attention could be paid to it. But agian, they had to shave off excess waste and NTUSA got the ax. Hell, a lot of anime companies now are just saying screw English dubs because they are too expensive to produce and cut into the bottom line. Why do you think you are seeing 13 episode sets come out now for $50 and less? Didn't 3 eps used to cost $30 retail? Geneon, NTUSA... it's going downhill fast kiddies.

Ya I read about what happened to Geneon and how anime is dying in america (really sad), but I was unaware of the whole ADV issue, so thanks for the info. Now I have to ask, let's just say the anime market regains stability, in your opinion do you think there is a chance that they might bring back NTUSA?

Quote by shoujoboy From what I've read, ADV is cancelling Newtype but reconcilling into a new magazine. Newtype in the form it is now won't exist, but they are making a cheaper magazine to come out at some point in the future.

Umm..I think that Magazine is called PiQ and it just hit the shelves this month. I know that PiQ is replacing Newtype USA and most of the staff from NTUSA is now working for it. I just received their first issue as a replacement for my lost NTUSA issue. It definitely does not replace Newtype USA, the content is too broad now. They cover topics such as american comics, tv shows and movies, where as NTUSA was based solely on Japanese anime and manga.

Well this is kind of embarrassing, I wrote you a whole post after only reading the first page of comments. It was only later when I went to re-read my post that I noticed yours. ^_^' Sorry, now I've learnt my lesson, to atleast scan all the pages before posting my own post. But good job about telling them.

Quote by oceansoul The problem I have is that I refuse to let the ignorant believe they are correct just because they can shout louder or refuse to apply basic logic, a trait that can lead to excessive wasting of time when arguing with Christian fundamentalists.

Haha,I have the same problem, and that's why I get stuck in arguments that I later regret even partaking in. Another funny thing is that the argument I had which made me so frustrated that I actually posted a thread about it, was a religious one; and the person I was talking to happened to just be a hardcore Christian. I should have known better. lol.

Quote by RanmaSPretty much what nuhoer suggests: look at the games for both systems and see which ones interest you more.

Of course, if money is not a issue, you could always buy both :)

Haha..I wish... I meant money to buy ONE system is not an issue, I'm not loaded or anything, it's just that I'm willing to invest in a good system when I buy one, that's why I needed some feedback before I made the big decision. But thanks anyways for your comment.

and about the previous post, have calm. when we talk about topics like religion is really hard arrive to agreement. when something bothers me, simply i obviate it. i hate be polemic ^^'
well... i dont know if my comment will like you, but is like i do. see ya later dear ^^

Haha, my previous post on my wall, was basically just me letting out all of my frustration about that convo. I don't usually have a problem with religious discussions, I just have a problem with people who are unable to atleast open their minds long enough to actually listen to what you have to say. I don't really care if they agree with me or not, but thanks for the comment it made me laugh. On another note you shouldn't be so modest about your work, I checked out your gallery, and you've got talent, keep it up. :) I look forward to seeing more of it.

Quote by MystikalLamHmm, well, personally, I would go for the Playstation 3. It is a flexible system with many capabilities. A lot of people usually complain about a lack of games but that is beginning to change. With releases like Warhawk, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Assassin's Creed and future releases such as Haze, Final Fantasy 13 (and FF Versus 13), and God of War 3. You shouldn't forget about the included Blue-Ray player either. There is one problem though, the new releases of the PS3 cannot play previous PS2 games, something happened and Sony had to remove the chip for the backwards compatibility. On the other hand, I'm not a big X-Box fan, but I would fear getting one due to the ridiculous failure rate (33%). Also, the seemingly most popular games for it (Halo 3 and Gears of War) are a bit overrated. Of course, both systems can play in HD, so that's good. Overall, I would pick the PS3, but that's just me...I hoped this helped. =D

Haha, ya it really did thanks, I had already been leaning towards the PS3, but this definitely makes me more decided on it. Thanks again.

Previous post- this is probably the stupidest most pointless I'm running into a wall convo I've ever had the misfortune of having with someone. I'm actually mentally and physically tired of it. Unbelievable, I can't believe I actually wasted my time with it.

Quote by alterliertry to add your most recent works, which can be of any type, also try to add to each piece a short description on how did you create them, that normally gives you good points.

Thanks a lot for the tips :) they are much appreciated.

Quote: "if God created the world in 6 days and Adam and Eve were created along with all the other creatures, how come dinosaurs aren't mentioned and why are they said to have existed billions of years before us?

it was long time before humans, why should God mention it.

Quote: created Religion just so they could control the people

ahaha, that's not true. what's the advantage for them? they all work just for God, not for themselves

I'm guessing you're obviously a believer. I don't think you really got what I meant. I'm not going to argue with you about this since you seem to believe in it quite strongly, but when I said the ancient civilization Mesopotamia created religion to better control their people, I said they created RELIGION not GOD, because they believed in several gods like many ancient civilizations. And they created Religion to justify their actions. That's all I meant. If you wish to ignore this fact then be my guest, I don't have a problem with it. On a further note just so you know The Kingdom of Heaven doesn't really mean anything to us Atheists, so we don't exactly care if we reach it or not.

merged: 11-23-2007 ~ 06:50am
okay, if that ancient civilization Mesopotamia created religion to better control their people, my religion wasnt made by that, but by His plans. i see that u're n all other atheism cant accept that existance of God, just because u cant see Him. cant see doesnt mean it's not real, same as FACTS dont give any probabilities. n if u still cant accept God, u'll not save, n u'll know someday, how regret u're. if u cant accept God as ur Creator, then He cant accept u as His child. well, God has plans for that.. X)

You are obviously still not getting what I'm saying, so forget it. It does not seem like you will listen anyways so I can tell that this conversation is useless. I'm not trying to convert you to become an atheist or anything, since I also realise that would be a waste of time. I just stated my beliefs. So I'd greatly appreciate it if you'd stop trying to convert me to Christianity. I respect your choice to believe in whatever you want, so the same in return should not be so difficult or offensive, since it is part of the MT policy. Also I'm going to have to ask you to stop writing on my wall if all you are going to do is spout your beliefs, since quite frankly I don't care.
